The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is anticipated to be unveiled by Qualcomm at the October 2023 Snapdragon Tech Summit. The first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones may be released as early as November of this year, according to numerous rumors. One of the first devices with it will be the Xiaomi 14 series. According to a fresh rumor from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi’s subsidiary Redmi will also introduce a phone with an SD8G3 chip.
Redmi K70 Pro may feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Recall that in December 2022, Redmi debuted the Redmi K60 series. The Redmi K60e, Redmi K60, and Redmi K60 Pro were all introduced. These smartphones are powered by the Dimensity 8200, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets, respectively.
The Redmi K70 series will probably also feature a number of devices. The insider claims that a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone will be part of the lineup. As a result, it is expected that the Redmi K70, which will replace the K60 Pro, will include the aforementioned chipset.
The K60 Pro was still only available on the Chinese market. Therefore, it is uncertain whether the K70 Pro will be made available in countries other than China. Information regarding the Redmi K70 series’ specifications is not yet available.
According to reports, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will contain 2 Cortex-A520 cores running at 2.0GHz, 5 Cortex-A720 cores running at 3.0GHz, and 1 Cortex X4 core clocked at 3.75GHz. The unknown chip was discovered with remarkable results on the benchmarking sites Geekbench and AnTuTu. The SD8G3 received scores of 2563 and 7256 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. On AnTuTu, however, the chip received 1,771,106 points.
