Apple revealed a new Apple Pencil for iPads with a USB Type-C connection earlier today. The business also unveiled a new iPad 10th Gen WiFi + Cellular for China along with the newest pen.
The iPad in question comes equipped with an eSIM. For the uninitiated, the original cellular model, unlike the type offered across the rest of the globe, is restricted to a physical SIM card slot in China.
As a result, the recently unveiled iPad 10th Gen WiFi + Cellular is only ‘new’ in China.
The remainder of the arrangement stays the same. Even the real SIM card slot is still present.
But Apple has chosen to significantly increase the price. The prices for 64GB and 256GB memory options are $4,799 ($655) and $5,999 ($820), respectively.
For comparison, the first model without an eSIM was released for just $3,599 and $4,799, respectively. That represents a $1200 (36%) price increase without any appreciable changes.
The latest Apple Pencil (USB-C) is similarly very simple. Pressure sensitivity, wireless pairing and charging, and double tapping to switch between tools are not supported.
Consequently, at just $79, it is the company’s most cheap stylus. In any case, customers can now simply charge it using a USB Type-C connector.
The brand-new 10th generation WiFi + cellular iPad for China is already available for purchase. Strangely, eSIM can only be used with one carrier (China).
