Another day, another attempt to enter the section, which appears to be getting more competitive lately. With the introduction of its newest model, the Backroad AL, German bicycle specialist Rose Bikes is creating waves in the electric vehicle market this time. Because of its adaptability and usefulness, gravel bikes have become more and more popular, and the new Backroad AL adds yet another tempting alternative to the market.
The Bike is quite lightweight, weighing only 13.4 kgs thanks to the Carbon frame
The Backroad AL is available in two variations and is built similarly to other gravel e-bikes. However, it stands out thanks to its more adaptable and comfortable design, which makes it perfect for both daily commuting and performance-oriented rides. Multiple attachment places on the aluminum frame enable riders to mount different luggage items for short journeys or extended outings. With a weight of roughly 13.4 kilograms, its lightweight aluminum frame and carbon fork make for a nimble and responsive riding experience.
The newest X35 motor from famous German manufacturer Mahle is used in the Backroad AL for improved performance. Although small and light, the motor generates 40 Newton-meters of torque, giving the pedal exactly the right amount of support without sacrificing performance. Under ideal circumstances, the smart motor and 250-watt-hour battery pack have a range of up to 62 miles. Rose Bikes offers an optional 208-watt-hour range extender that tucks snugly into the bike’s bottle holder for prolonged excursions.
The simple iWoc One button on the top tube makes switching between support modes uncomplicated, doing away with the need for a display. Riders can fine-tune individual parameters using the Mahle smartphone app for more individualized modifications.
Both Backroad AL models have the same frame and drivetrain, but the componentry varies. The AL Plus Apex XPLR costs 3,399 Euros ($3,785 USD) and has a 12-speed drivetrain made out of SRAM components. The more expensive AL Plus GRX RX810 costs 3,499 Euros ($3,896 USD) and has an 11-speed Shimano GRX transmission. Both versions come in sand beige or mint green color schemes.
